LLF Announces Second London Edition

This will be the Lahore Literary Festival’s fourth edition abroad.

The second annual edition of the Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) in London takes place Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at the British Library.

Like its five free home editions and three previous sold-out away editions—two in New York and one in London—the one-day, ticketed event will feature a host of newsmakers and opinion leaders. Full-day and half-day (for morning and afternoon sessions) tickets are available for sale online. The evening performance by Tina Sani is ticketed separately.

Scheduled sessions include, among others, Pre-Partition writings from Lahore, the book launch of Hybrid Tapestries, and panel discussions on Pakistan’s culinary heritage, British Library’s Pakistan collections, and South Asian crafts.

Speakers for #LLFLondon2017 include Ved Mehta, Prof. Ian Talbot, Prof. Tahir Kamran, Prof. Yasmin Khan, Kamila Shamsie, Mirza Waheed, Tahmima Anam, Razia Iqbal, Muneeza Shamsie, Aamer Hussein, Prof. Amina Yaqin, Madhur Jaffrey, Sumayya Usmani, Prof. Elizabeth Collingham, Dr. Nur Sobers-Khan, Prof. Ashoke Chatterjee, Adeela Suleman, Prof. Shehnaz Ismail, Prof. Salima Hashmi, Sarfraz Manzoor, Baroness Shreela Flather, Nayyar Ali Dada, Prof. Sarah Ansari, Amb. Maleeha Lodhi, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Christina Lamb, Owen Bennett-Jones, Arfa Sayeda Zehra, Dr. Asif Farrukhi, Shezad Dawood, Vali Malhouji—and a special surprise keynote speaker.

The nonprofit event is being hosted by the British Library at its Knowledge Centre on 96 Euston Road, London, NW1 2DB. #LLFLondon2017’s patrons include Lina and Ali Munir, Nadia Khalid Waheed, Ayesha Khalid Waheed, and Sujatha and Kashif Zafar.
