Stoneage

Oct. 8, 2013

Pakistani clothier Stoneage Jeans—“a vintage-inspired, denim-based clothing label” founded in 2004—has launched a new advertisement campaign with some T&A. But this campaign for their fall/winter collection is making waves because both the T and A belong to the mostly shirtless male model, not the largely clothed female one. Will the risqué shoot backfire? Check out the company’s Facebook page for the photos—and comments.

this is little bit too much. Traditional middle class families, which are in majority in Pakistan, won’t like their daughters and sisters to see this.

Yes Pakistan is. It’s just shirtless men. They exist everywhere, on the roads, in villages, and in our fashion industry. Technically even the Quran allows for the chest to remain exposed for men, requiring cover up between the navel and the knees. If there is a reaction to this, it’ll just be from the homophobic masses who will use mis-guided Islamic wisdom to portray this as indecent while they would have no problem commenting ‘sexy, hot, gorgeous’ on such shoots by female models.
